Storage within 5 mi

How this site works

In short

We list every storage facility in our data that sits inside the radius you choose, sorted by straight-line distance. Nobody pays to rank higher, and we do not mix in facilities from outside the line.

Why we built it

Searching for storage near you usually returns city pages that stretch well past where you would actually drive. A "storage in Burton" page can list facilities in towns 15 miles away. Industry research says renters typically stay within 3 to 5 miles of home or work, so we built a finder that respects that line.

Where the data comes from

How we measure distance

Distance is straight-line, the "as the crow flies" miles between two points. When you share your location, we measure from where you are. When you search a zip code or city, we measure from the center of the facilities in that zip code or city.

Driving distance is usually somewhat longer, especially across rivers or highways. Tap Directions on any listing to see the actual route.

How we show hours

"Open now" uses the hours on the public listing and the time on your device. Listed hours are often office hours. Gate access hours can be longer, so call to confirm if you plan an early or late visit.

What we do not do

Known gaps

Coverage is strongest in Texas, California, Florida and Arizona. Facilities in the 16 states we do not cover yet will not appear, and some small independent facilities may be missing. If a facility has closed or moved, its listing may lag until our next update.

Contact and corrections

If a listing is wrong, a facility has closed or is missing, or a guide needs a fix, email us. The contact page has the address and what to include.
