Short answer
Yes. Most chain facilities and many independents let you reserve or fully rent a unit online. Online rentals often come with web-only prices and same-day move-in.
There are two levels of online booking:
- Reserve online. You hold a unit and a price, then finish the paperwork at the office. At many facilities, online reservations are free with no obligation, though they lock in the price rather than a specific unit.
- Rent online. You sign the lease, pay and get your gate code without stopping at the office. At some operators, a lock is already on the unit when you arrive.
What you will usually need:
- A valid government-issued ID. Most facilities require renters to be at least 18.
- A card for the first payment and any fees
- Proof of insurance, or you will add the facility's plan
Read the lease before you click to agree. Look for the late fee schedule, the move-out notice period and whether a promo price requires a minimum stay.
